I am hopelessly in love with the holidays. I’m that dork that orders artisan-style candy canes, makes homemade hot cocoa after a day of sledding, plays the She and Him Christmas album for a month straight while I make dinner…it’s bad. Real bad.
I won’t apologize for loving this glitzy season, full of fanfare and frivolity, and the next best thing to cookie swaps and Angel Tree shopping is probably dressing for all of those Christmas parties. There is so much dazzling body jewelry out there to take your everyday look to new heights, and I’m just in love with the look. There’s a bauble for every day of the week over here on FreshTrends, no matter what you have pierced.
I live in a land that sees a LOT of snow, and we love it. My husband works at the local ski hill, and we spend every spare moment riding the powder, snowshoeing, and just generally loving living in a snowglobe. If you’re struggling to find a classy piece to give (or wear yourself), snowflake jewelry is so timeless, and there’s something for every piercing these days. Take a look:
If you’re a fan of the classic holiday look – snowmen, silver bells, Christmas trees – then there is actually body jewelry to scratch the itch now, how wild is that? This isn’t your mother’s Christmas jewelry folks, but she’d probably approve.
Does anyone else listen to profane Christmas music? My husband hates the classic stuff so much, he made a Spotify playlist that’s nothing but swearing and rock and roll, and I kinda love him for it (we’re in desperate need of more profane Christmas music by the way, so if you have any suggestions, leave them in the comments).
Anyway, I know a lot of the pierced and modded men in my life aren’t really into bling and snowmen so much, but a lot of this more lighthearted jewelry really appeals to them. If you want to keep your look low key, here are a few funny, festive pieces of body jewelry for you.
I love all of the sparkle that comes with the holiday season – you put on your slinkiest cocktail dress, or your ugliest sweater, and your most bedazzled jewelry, and drink eggnog until there’s a risk of sullying your reputation at the company Christmas party. This holiday party season calls for endless frivolity, lots of diamonds, and all of the spiced rum a human being can respectably drink – look good doing it.
These are high-end jewelry pieces that also make incredible gifts, so if there’s a guy or gal in your life that you need to wow this holiday season, consider this your starting point – very little will top a piece of body jewelry like this.
Oh my gosh you guys, I could just go on and on, but I’m sure you don’t want to load 87 images of body jewelry just to read one blog post, so I won’t. No matter what your traditions are, I think it’s important to just live out loud. This time of year, I think maybe we don’t think to dress up our body mods, and I’m not really sure why.
It’s like there’s this taboo on body art around the holiday season, and frankly, it’s BS, because what we’ve done to our bodies is crazy beautiful. Don’t hide tattoos and piercings for upscale parties and family gatherings, dress them up, and treat that special someone in your life with something more than just a tennis bracelet or a gift card to Starbucks – nothing says ‘I know you’ like the gift of body jewelry ;-).
