Everybody with piercings has a story and we love to hear them. Today, we’re featuring Renee, who is a seasoned pro at getting piercings. She’s had 20+ piercings and plans to add more!
When did you get your first piercing? What was it? What’s the story behind it?
I got my belly button pierced when I was 18. There is really no story behind it, I just thought it was really cute and at 18 I was finally legal to do it so I did.
How many piercings do you have?
14 and they are mostly in my ears: belly, three standard ear piercings, both my tragus, triple forward helix, industrial and rook. I have had various other piercings over the years and I have more piercings planned. In the past I have had: Monroe, eyebrow, several cartilage piercings, my nose and tongue done twice and one of my nipples.
What is your most recent piercing? When did you get it done? Why?
I got my industrial done on January 23. I went to a piercing event and got it done for free. Stay tuned for the video?
Which piercing hurt the most?
Definitely my industrial. It didn’t hurt when I was getting it done but because it’s on the ear and it’s harder to sleep and easier to irritate.
When did you discover your love for body modification?
When I was in college. I had a lot more piercings back then.
Which piercing is your favorite?
Tragus, for sure. I like how simple and dainty the jewelry is. I have a gold CZ labret in it and think it’s really adorable.
Why do you get piercings?
I like the individuality and, of course, how awesome they look!
Do you have any interesting piercing stories?
YES!I decided one night in college while I was drunk to get my nipple pierced (seriously, do not do this #staysober). The piercer had to pinch my nipple to get it hard so he could pierce it and his only comment was “I swear this is not turning me on.”
If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive, who would it be?
Oscar Wilde because he is one of my favorite writers and The Portrait of Dorian Gray is my favorite book. Amy Schumer because she is hilarious and always makes me laugh. Lastly, Channing Tatum because it’s Channing Tatum and who wouldn’t want to have dinner with him? He’s funny AND gorgeous. He just seems like a good time.
What do you like about getting pierced?
One of the things I actually like most about getting pierced and even tattooed are the people. Tattoo artists and piercers are some of the coolest people I have met. I enjoy hearing about how they got started and what their most interesting pieces have been. They always have great and entertaining stories to tell.
