2013 is the Year of the Snake, according to Chinese astrology, and the last time we had one it was 2001. Snakes symbolize intelligence, sexiness, wealth, communication, and all things that are mysterious, and they happen to be gorgeous. In honor of this once-every-12-years event, and in honor of one of the coolest animals in the Asian zodiac, it’s due time we do a feature on snake body jewelry.
Currently jewelry trends are all about the snake anyway, with slithery serpentine symbols popping up on belly rings, earrings, armbands, bracelets, necklaces, finger and toe rings, so it’s more than fitting to be donning the snake in your piercings, wherever they may be. Should you want to take this trend even further, snakebite piercings would be another cool way to play it up, both literally and subliminally; plus if you happen to be born during year of the snake, even more appropriate!
